Using the Builder Module
The Builder module is invoked from the upper left hand corner of the InsightII window. Use the left mouse click on the white and blue spiral icon and select Builder. The Builder submenu will appear in the row below the main menu as shown in the image below.
Molecules can be constructed using the fragment library. There are many types of fragments available including small molecules, rings, peptides, amino acids metal centers etc.
When using the Builder it is a good idea to use the X-windows platform. This is done by typing
to invoke insightII. 3-D graphics (CPK etc.) are not activated in this mode, but it allows the user to change atom types etc. without crashing the program.
